Our mission is to empower platform workers with the knowledge and tools to reclaim their personal data, negotiate fair compensation, and hold AI companies accountable for ethical data usage.
We do this through the following strategies:
We offer country-specific data protection training and sensitization clinics to equip workers with the knowledge needed to understand, exercise, and advocate for their data rights. We recognize that privacy and data protection laws differ across jurisdictions, and therefore tailor our training to the legal frameworks governing workers in their respective countries. Where local legislation is absent or inadequate, we draw upon international best practices and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as a benchmark for protecting workers' rights.
We support worker power by providing workers with the necessary knowledge, resources, and practical tools to access and understand the data collected about them. By helping workers exercise their data rights, we enable them to identify patterns of surveillance, algorithmic management, performance monitoring, and data exploitation in the workplace. We believe that data access and transparency can serve as a new form of worker organizing, empowering workers to collectively advocate for fair treatment, improved working conditions, and greater accountability from platforms and AI companies.
We help generate evidence from workers' experiences to influence regulators, policymakers, companies, and the public toward stronger protections for platform and AI workers.
